A few months ago I was chatting with a group of female artists during one of our Thrive Masterminds meetings, and I expressed to them that I was feeling stuck. Uninspired. Bored. I told them that I wanted to go BIG with my artwork, but I didn't know how to go about it. My studio is simply a desk in my living room, so it's not realistic to start pulling out giant canvases to play + experiment. I went home inspired (as I always do after these meetings), but unsure where to begin.
About a week later I got an e-mail from Jamie, the founder of Thrive, asking me if I would be interested in painting a mural at an office building in downtown Vancouver. She had no idea about my quest to go big (universe you're amazing sometimes), but thought my style would be a good fit. I quickly responded with an enthusiastic "yes!", and now I can add Mural Painter to my resume. The project was a ton of fun, and I am so proud to have my work up on a wall in The Profile Vancouver coworking space. I also got to spend time hanging out with the amazing Sandeep Johal and Aimée Henny Brown who were creating there own gorgeous murals in the same space. Thank you to Laara Cerman for the awesome photographs! And since throwing things out there seems to be working so far, I've got my sites on the Vancouver Mural Festival 2018 ;)
